Akokwa, the hometown of the member representing Ideato North and Ideato South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, witnessed an unprecedented gathering of constituents, political associates, supporters and well-wishers who converged to celebrate his 44th birthday in a colourful display of solidarity and appreciation.

The event was marked by tributes, goodwill messages and the presentation of gifts, as the people applauded what they described as Ugochinyere’s people-oriented leadership and impactful representation in the National Assembly.

Addressing the jubilant crowd, Ugochinyere expressed profound gratitude to his constituents for their unwavering support, noting that their confidence in him has remained the driving force behind his commitment to deliver quality representation.

He used the occasion to highlight major projects executed under his representation, saying his administration has prioritised education, healthcare, infrastructure and human capital development across the constituency.

According to him, completed projects include the construction of facilities at County School, Akokwa; Jubilee Nursery and Primary School, Akokwa; the Laboratory Block at Comprehensive Secondary School, Umumaisiaku; and the rehabilitation of Akpulu Secondary School and Central School, Arondizuogu, among several others

The lawmaker further disclosed that several projects are currently ongoing, including the supply of over 1,000 school desks to public schools, the rehabilitation of Osina Community Hospital and the rehabilitation of Umuobom Health Centre.

On human capital development, Ugochinyere said more than 400 students across primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in Ideato have benefited from his scholarship scheme, while 66 constituents have been trained and empowered through his agricultural empowerment programme. He added that his office has also facilitated erosion control projects and installed more than 2,000 solar-powered street lights in communities across the constituency.

Looking ahead to the forthcoming elections, Ugochinyere urged his supporters and constituents to begin strategic mobilisation, warning that the journey ahead would require unity, vigilance and commitment to defending the people’s mandate.

He assured the people that any attempt to undermine the electoral process would be firmly resisted, insisting that election results must be transparent, uploaded directly from polling units and processed in accordance with the provisions of the law.

> “Our forebears never conceded to injustice, and we will not allow outsiders to impose leadership upon us. We shall turn out in our thousands. The authentic result will be written in Ideato. The power of the people remains the greatest power. We will defend our land and our votes, and we will neutralize every attempt to undermine us.

“This election is both spiritual and political. It is a decisive moment to consolidate the mandate of your messenger. I will not fail you. Leave the politics of Abuja to me. Tend to your assignments and safeguard your polling units.”

The celebration reached its peak with an overwhelming outpouring of goodwill as constituents presented gifts, paid glowing tributes and repeatedly applauded the federal lawmaker in recognition of what they described as his effective, responsive and result-driven representation.

The gathering also served as an opportunity for supporters to reaffirm their confidence in Ugochinyere and pledge continued support for him ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were leaders of the Action People’s Party (APP), including Hon. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, APP candidate for Oru East State Constituency; Hon. Chibueze Bright Ndubueze, APP candidate for Nkwerre State Constituency; and the APP State Chairman, Hon. Ernest Njesi.
