Imo APP Set for LGA Congresses, Assures Transparent Process

The Action Peoples Party (APP), Imo State chapter, has declared its readiness to conduct its Local Government Area (LGA) congresses across the state today, following the successful completion of its ward congresses earlier in the week.
In a press release issued on April 24, 2026, and signed by the Interim State Publicity Secretary, Cajetan Duke, JP, the party said the exercise forms part of its broader strategy to reposition its internal structures and deepen grassroots participation ahead of future political engagements.
According to the statement, the LGA congresses represent a vital stage in the party’s ongoing organizational reforms, aimed at consolidating its presence at both ward and local government levels. The APP emphasized that the process is designed to promote inclusivity, transparency, and accountability in the emergence of party leadership, in line with democratic principles.
The party further disclosed that adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and credible exercise across all LGAs in Imo State. This includes the deployment of accredited officials tasked with overseeing proceedings and ensuring strict compliance with the party’s constitution and operational guidelines.
“These officials have been given clear directives to ensure that the process remains free, fair, and reflective of the collective will of members,” the statement noted.
The leadership of the APP also called on members, stakeholders, and supporters to maintain discipline and decorum throughout the exercise. It urged participants to avoid any form of misconduct and instead embrace unity and sportsmanship in the overall interest of the party.
Reaffirming its commitment to democratic ideals, the party expressed confidence that the successful conduct of the LGA congresses would strengthen its position as a credible and progressive political platform in the state.
The APP concluded by appreciating the continued support of its members and encouraging all stakeholders to contribute to the success of the exercise.
The party’s slogan, “Oge eruola… maka odi nma ndi Imo,” underscores its message of renewed hope and collective progress for the people of Imo State.
