Dear Sir,
We acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 17th July, 2026, written on behalf of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State Chapter, concerning our publication titled, “Imo LGA Chairmen Express Dissatisfaction Over Planned September 2026 Council Election.”
Following a review of the concerns raised in your correspondence, Edge Express Newspapers has decided to withdraw the publication and retract it in its entirety.
We hereby convey our unequivocal and unreserved apology to the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State Chapter, its leadership and members, and to His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, Governor of Imo State, for any distress, embarrassment, inconvenience or misunderstanding the publication may have occasioned.
It was never the intention of Edge Express Newspapers to suggest that the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State Chapter, as an organisation, had adopted any position inconsistent with that publicly expressed by its leadership, or to convey any unintended impression regarding the Association or the Government of Imo State.
Accordingly, we have withdrawn the publication and regret any misunderstanding arising therefrom.
