The Action People’s Party (APP) candidate for Owerri Zone Senatorial District and the party’s governorship candidate in Imo State, Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving education through sustained investments in schools and learning infrastructure.

Amadi made the commitment following the installation of a solar power system at the Sisters of the Compassionate Heart of Christ Convent and Queen of Patriarchs Nursery and Primary School in Mbaise. The project was commissioned on his behalf by members of his team.
The solar power project is expected to provide uninterrupted electricity to the convent and school, creating a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and administration.
Speaking on the intervention, Amadi praised the dedication of the Sisters, describing them as selfless educators who have continued to provide quality education despite limited resources.
According to him, the Sisters have remained steadfast in nurturing children and sustaining the school through faith, discipline and sacrifice, even when public support has been inadequate.
He noted that the provision of solar power would eliminate dependence on costly diesel generators and ensure that academic and administrative activities are no longer disrupted by inadequate electricity supply.
“This is not an act of charity but a privilege to stand with people who have consistently invested in the future of our children. They have kept the school running when funding was scarce, and they deserve every support,” he said.
Amadi disclosed that the solar installation forms part of his broader investment in education, revealing that he has committed millions of naira to the renovation of schools across various communities in Imo State. He added that several of the completed projects would be commissioned in the coming weeks.
He stressed that quality educational infrastructure remains one of the surest investments any society can make, noting that well-built classrooms and learning facilities will continue to benefit generations of pupils.

Reaffirming his vision for education, Amadi said he remains committed to expanding access to quality learning opportunities and supporting institutions that are shaping the future of Imo State.
The APP senatorial and governorship candidate said his aspiration to serve the people at higher levels of leadership is driven by a desire to translate such interventions into broader public policy, adding that his record of community-based projects reflects the kind of representation and leadership he intends to offer.
Amadi expressed appreciation to the Sisters, teachers and pupils of the school for their dedication and prayers, praying that God would continue to bless and strengthen the work of their hands.
