APC members in Obiangwu Ward Ten, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, have reaffirmed their commitment and preparedness to carry out massive grassroots mobilisation to ensure that the four candidates of the party win convincingly in the ward in the 2027 general elections.
The resolve was expressed by the party faithful at a meeting in the ward on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The meeting was convened to express profound gratitude to the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for once again demonstrating his love for Ngor Okpala LGA through the strategic appointment of its son, Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu, as Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations), as well as to map out campaign strategies that would help the party secure victory in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the meeting, a leader of the party in the ward, Hon. Chukwuma Anuforo, who delivered the pivotal address at the event, informed the large crowd of APC faithful and community leaders that the meeting was convened to thank Governor Uzodimma for the appointment of Chief Enyinna Onuegbu as Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) and to articulate winning strategies that would give the APC a landslide victory in the ward in the 2027 general elections.
He stressed that the strategic appointment of Chief Onuegbu, whom he described as a true son of the council and a revered APC leader in the area, was more than an appointment.
According to him, it was a reward for loyalty, consistency and hard work, a clear vote of confidence by the governor and another powerful reminder of the deeply rooted love the governor has for Ngor Okpala LGA.
Hon. Anuforo, while thanking the governor for the rare honour and privilege bestowed on Chief Onuegbu in particular and Ngor Okpala generally through the appointment, expressed optimism that, with his enormous leadership experience and track record of performance, he would not only excel in the new office but also justify the huge confidence and trust reposed in him by his principal.
On the 2027 elections, he stressed that the meeting was part of a broader grassroots mobilisation and engagement initiative of the ward aimed at securing the total support of the people for the party, Governor Uzodimma’s administration and the four candidates of the APC, as well as ensuring a resounding victory for them in the coming elections.
He maintained that the ward had built a reputation for delivering outstanding results for candidates of the party in past elections, promising that it would cement that enviable legacy in the coming election cycle.
According to him, as part of steps towards achieving victory, arrangements have been made for the commencement of what he described as “door-to-door grassroots evangelism” by members of the party across the 17 booths in the ward to build organic support for the four APC candidates.
He further informed the gathering that, in his usual style of quiet leadership and consistent support and loyalty to Governor Uzodimma and the party, Dr. Chijioke Kaduru, former Owerri Zone Senate aspirant and a prominent leader in the ward, had provided financial support of N1.7 million for the planned door-to-door grassroots campaign.
He also disclosed that, in continuation of his unwavering commitment and support for President Bola Tinubu, Prince Alex Mbata, Hon. Pat Ekeji and Hon. Obinna Egu, he would soon, alongside the grassroots structures of the Nkwa Chi Kwere Movement across Owerri Zone, host Prince Mbata to what he dubbed a “victory celebration” ahead of the main victory celebration early next year.
Hon. Anuforo, who also x-rayed the APC’s chances in Ngor Okpala generally, sounded upbeat about victory, pointing out that his confidence stemmed from the fact that, with a leader like AVM Remigius Eke, whom he described as sharing leadership qualities with the governor, leading the charge and actively backed by other leaders such as Dr. TOE Ekechi, Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu, Hon. Bede Eke, Hon. Obinna Egu, Chief Mrs. Chika Ibekwe, Chief Kingsley Dikibo, Dr. Kaduru and many other dedicated leaders, the APC would cruise to victory in the area.
In his contribution, the Prosperity Coordinator for Obiangwu Ward Ten, Hon. Okwudiri Ekeh, called for sustained unity and cooperation among party faithful in the ward and Ngor Okpala, pointing out that for electoral success to be achieved, all hands must be on deck.
He described Dr. Kaduru as a household name in the ward, Ngor Okpala and Owerri Zone, as well as a true loyalist of the governor who has continued to live up to his commitment that his primary goal remains supporting his role model, Governor Uzodimma, as he works tirelessly to transform the state and strengthen the party to enable it to sustain its dominance of Ngor Okpala and the Imo political space.
The presidents-general of the two communities, Mr. Charles Anyanwu of Obiangwu Autonomous Community and Mr. Christopher Ekechukwu of Ezemba Autonomous Community, who attended the meeting in solidarity, disclosed that they came to identify with the party because of the good works of the Nkwa Chi Kwere Foundation in both communities.
According to them, for several years, the foundation has contributed significantly and measurably to human capital and community development in the two communities, the LGA and across Owerri Zone, hence their decision to throw their weight behind him, the APC and Governor Uzodimma.
In his remarks, Mr. Christopher Ogu, APC Obiangwu Ward Ten Chairman, lauded Dr. Kaduru for his continuous support and efforts to sustain the party in the ward and Ngor Okpala, as well as his unwavering support for Governor Uzodimma and his administration, which he has consistently voiced, including at a recent meeting held at his residence in Umuwaoma, Obiangwu.
He expressed confidence that, with the calibre of leaders surrounding him in the ward, including the Chief Convener of Nkwa Chi Kwere, Dr. Clifford Ogbede, whom he described as the highest-ranking federal government appointee from the ward, Hon. Anuforo and others, the party would emerge victorious in the January polls.
He emphasised that the role Hon. Anuforo played in past elections was well known within and outside the ward, pointing out that every party he supported in previous elections had always triumphed.
He noted that there was no disagreement in the ward and urged party members to return home and begin serious door-to-door grassroots mobilisation. He assured them that the funds graciously provided for the campaign by the Nkwa Chi Kwere Foundation would be made available for the exercise, even as he announced that he, Hon. Anuforo and other leaders would supervise the mobilisation campaign.
Ogu further lauded the APC Ngor Okpala Chairman, Hon. Daberechi Akwa, and the Imo APC Chairman, Dr. Austin Onyedebelu, for their proactive leadership, which he said had put the party on the path of sustainable progress and victory at the two levels.
He also applauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for providing the enabling environment that has helped them transform the party into the most formidable political institution in the state.
