Uzodimma’s GLO blows hot: Alleges Chairperson,Chika Ibekwe killing APC in Ngor Okpala

As the controversy stirred by the recent open letter written to Imo State Governor,Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, by Hon Boyden Amajirionwu, former Imo Assembly member for Ngor Okpala Constituency, over state of rural roads in the council, continues to echo, Hon Chukwuma Anuforo, Governor Uzodinma’s Liason Officer, GLO, for Obiangwu Ward 10, has added a fresh twist to the saga.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Obiangwu Autonomous Community, Ngor Okpala LGA recently, the grassroots political leader alleged that Hon Chika Ibekwe Chairperson of Ngor Okpala LGA, deserves to be blamed for the attacks on the governor by Amajirionwu, and other indigenes of the council, over rural roads.
He stressed that his reason for blaming her for the ugly situation was because she has failed in her duty to provide proactive, responsive, sensitive and people oriented leadership to the council.
He cited example of this failure with the issue of rural roads, which he said has generated so much concern and questions from people of the locality.
According to him, as the number representative of Gov Uzodimma, and also number one citizen of the area, what one had expected she would be doing on the issue, was trying to give the hope and assurance to the people that government was aware of the problem, and was prepared to act to ameliorate the situation.
But, sadly, he said instead of instilling hope and confidence in the people, she keeps worsening the situation with her unguarded responses and utterances.
He disclosed that more often than not what you would hear or see her tell concerned citizens, is that she has no business with fixing roads because she’s not in charge of the allocation of the area, even as he alleged that competent sources have revealed that the protest staged by youths of Nguru over the state of their road, was allegedly inspired by a leader she’s loyal to.
He alleged that she is only good at making reckless statements like telling people that she receives paltry sum from monthly allocation, creating division and accusing all leaders in Ngor Okpala APC in concert with one leader from Nguru/Umuowa Ward, who is the only leader she listens to in council, and also threatning anyone who opposes her with arrest.
Hon Anuforo opined that it was this gap she created with her often colorless and discouraging response and inept leadership, that gave rise to the current questioning of the governor by Ngor Okpala people, even though some of these questions like that of Hon Amajirionwu, are clearly self serving.
The astute youth leader blamed inexperience, incompetence and running of one man show for the alleged leadership failure of the chairperson, and pleaded with the governor to always carry out detailed due diligence on any son or daughter of the area, he wishes to give leadership role before doing that.
He further bogged the governor to pay more serious attention to affairs of APC in Ngor Okpala by setting up a panel to investigate how the chairperson and the APC leader in Ngor Okpala have been running the party.
He alleged that they are on a mission to bury the party in the LGA, having negotiated deals with other interests eying governorship, stressing that the deluge of defections from the party by loyalists of the same leaders in charge of the party in the area, gives credence to his allegation.
