Now that the functional criminals have jumped bail from The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Peter Obi should return to the “House On The Rock”

By Willie Amadi.
The political landscape and dynamics ahead of 2027 elections, particularly the Presidential election is taking shape and appears to have been activated. There have been many motions without movement. The defections. The formations. The coalitions awaiting eventual collisions and casualties. The INEC and the Electoral Act timetable with its provisions are on the wings waiting for political parties to conduct congresses and coventions to elect new party executives at all levels inview of the 2-year requirements of membership of a political party for eligibility to run for the general elections in 2027.
At the moment, virtually all the political parties are suffering from one ailment or the other ranging from malaria, diabetes, prostrate, hypertension and some with early signs of cancer. The Presidential candidate hopefuls in these parties and or coalition are the agent provocateur to the cataclysm expected during the Presidential nomination during their primaries, unfortunately, by our very corrupt
INEC and JUDICIARY as umpires of facts and law.
A cursory look at Alhaji, Atiku Abubakar confirms a determined spirit to run for the Presidential election at all costs, believing that, Iike in Abraham Lincoln of the United States and Muhammadu Buhari of blessed memories, he will fulfill his heart’s desire of becoming the next President of Nigeria. He seems to be fixated about this belief and ambition. So an Obi/Atiku Presidency under any coalition is dead on arrival.
Peter Obi on his own, having scored over 6 million organic, counted and genuine votes in 2023 as a first timer, became a brand with large followership accross the country, partiularly the youth population. Therefore, pairing as a Vice- Presidential candidate with Atiku or anybody will obviously diminish his political value and acceptability nationwide.
Peter Obi in the absence of being adopted by the Coalition as her Presidential Candidate should return to the PDP, as the Labour Party is currently undergoing merger and acquisition ahead of 2027.
Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who tactically rode rough shod accross APC party primaries, the general election and finally, the judicial landmines is not smiling at all. As an incumbent with wide command and control of state power and apparatus, your guess is as good as mine.
Currently, with the recent collapse and decamptment of opposition Governors and their party structures in about 4 states to the ruling APC, the gradual rebranding of PDP as the major opposition party heading into coalition with the ruling party and finally, the ingenuity, political sagacity and mathematical experience of JAGABAN, the 2027 general elections may be an AI like conducted elections, making the 2023 “glitches” wahala, a child’s play.
Regrettably, the lack of will power by INEC to enforce the ammendments of the Electoral Act designed to forestall a repeat and safeguard future manipulation presents a hopeless situation ahead of any dream of a free and fair elections in Nigeria.
The question NOW is;
“What do we do to safeguard a relatively free and fair elections in Nigeria come 2027” ?
The answer is; provide food, jobs, security, rule of law, entrench strong institutions and good governance in the country.
With the above six-point indices operative in our polity and governance, there will be free and fair election, because it will no longer matter to anybody who becomes the President of Nigeria so long as there is strong leadership leading to the guarantee of citizen’s welfare. QED !
Happy birthday @ 64 Okwute ndi Igbo 🎂.
