Japan based business man,Prince Nnamdi Onukwufor bags two chieftaincy titles

Honour they say is given to whom it is due. We are also told that there is no hiding place for a golden fish. And so it turned out that Prince Nnamdi Onukwufor, a young businessman based in Japan won the hearts of two Imo communities and was conferred with two chieftaincy titles within two days early last month.

On the 2nd of January, 2026, HRH Eze (Rt. Hon) Ononenyi B. Uzoma (JP), Ekiti 11, of Ekiti Afor, Abba Nwangele LGA, Imo State, Nigeria first conferred on him the title of Ohia Ahuru Agu 1 at his palace. The wife was also admitted into the royalty circle as the Omashiridiya 1 of Ekiti Afor.

Next day the Amucha Njaba community hosted the new chief when their traditional ruler, HRH Eze C. A. Ofoegbu, (Okwara Orji 111) honoured him with another chieftaincy title of Nnanyereugo 1 of Amucha Njaba. His wife also was not left out in the honours roll call.

On the 4th of January, the high chief unveiled his two chieftaincy titles at his Uru Ogwa, Mbaitoli country home when he hosted the world amidst pomp and pageantry. His foreign friends, classmates, fellow chiefs, community leaders, business associates, musical groups, age grade members, in-laws, relations, friends and well-wishers constituted the mammoth crowd that graced the reception.

Kicking off the event was with the blessing of kola nut by Nze Omeudo of Durualoka kindred, Nze Ben Nwachukwu who thanked God and the ancestors for their blessings even as he asked or more blessings.

An exciting moment came when the couple, super chief and Lolo, stepped out to dance out their joys after walking round to greet the teeming guests. Their joys were also reciprocated by an appreciative crowd who showered them with different colours of currency notes. His Emmanuel College Graduates of ‘87 used the moment to identify with their own.

Entertainment was at its full peak with assorted foods and drinks including exotic wines generously served from two major points. Heineken Beer stand strategically positioned at a conspicuous corner ceaselessly served whoever offered a cup and some did so many rounds till they are satisfied.

Speaking on the occasion, the father of the house and most senior brother of the high chief described Ohia Ahuru Agu as hard working and a great philanthropist expressing joy that people responded to the family celebration in good number.

A childhood friend, Chief Matthew Anyanwu, Okunna gunyere nwa n’aka 1 of Ishi Ubomiri stated that Chief Nnanyere Ugo functioned very well at Emmanuel College, Owerri as both time keeper and librarian. In his words, “he is a good man who can give you his last kobo and is deserving of more honours”

In his own reaction, Chief Ohia Ahuru Agu anchored his motivation for to support others always on a spiritual injunction. According to him, God enjoined us to help the needy and we do not need to wait for them to approach us when we know that we can stand in for God.

It is not in doubt that the super chief was honoured for what he has been doing to the society.
