The people of Enyiogugu, in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, have expressed their willingness to partner the state government in-line with its 3R Mantra of reconciliation, rehabilitation and recovery, as well as in their plan to modernize Afor-Enyiogugu Market to an ultra-modern market.
This was part of a stakeholders meeting which held at the premises of the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma, on Urban Water Supply, Hon. Oliver Tanana Biaduo, Umuoye Enyiogugu on Saturday, last week.
Hon. Biaduo in his speech on the occasion disclosed that he convened the meeting to reassure Enyiogugu people that the Governor Hope Uzodimma-led government is determined to alleviate their problems, but warned that they should not allow themselves to fall as prey to some rampaging scammers who are parading themselves as government-approved developers, which, he stressed they are not.
According to him, “I was informed that some people came here claiming to be developers with a condition that at the end of the day, they will have eighty percent while the community will have twenty percent. It is uncalled for.
“For now, the government has not sent any developer to the market. When the government wants to interven in the market, we shall all be part of it.”
In his remarks, Oke Nze Linus Opara commended Hon. Biaduo for convening the meeting, pointing out that such briefings are necessary to save communities from scammers. He stressed the need for everyone to be vigilant to protect the legacies left behind by their fore-fathers.
The meeting attracted the presence of development union chairmen, traditional title holders, presidents-general of the four autonomous communities in Enyiogugu, executives of Federation of Enyiogugu Welfare and Development Union, among others, some of who corroborated Oke Nze Opara’s position.
