Okigwe Senatorial Seat: CampHope plots to stop Araraume

Ararume

With the sack of Chief Frank Ibezim and the subsequent declaration of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume as the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Imo North senatorial district election, last week by the High Court, indications are rife that the party is plotting to stop him from clinching the coveted seat.

Grapevine sources disclosed to this newspaper that the leadership of the party is determined to stop him by adopting a candidate of another political party, recalling how Senator Araraume allegedly organized the then called “Abuja,” politicians to launch serious attacks on the former governor, Achike Udenwa’s government and the Peoples Democratic Party.

It added that Governor Uzodimma loyalists are not comfortable with the thought of Senator Araraume joining forces with the former governor, now Senator Rochas Okorocha to fight the governor and as a result, have vowed to do all within their reach to stop him. They maintained that going by his antecedents in other political parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA allowing, Araraume to emerge victorious at the election is equivalent to inviting trouble which will spell doom for the party and probably truncate Governor Uzodimma’s second term ambition.
