The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Key Products, Limited and former Special Adviser, Inter-Party to former Governor Rochas Okorocha, Chief Alan B Onyemaechi, (Eziaha), says the #EndSARS protests that engulfed the nation recently was an indictment on the nation’s leadership.
The former transition committee chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Council and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in an interaction with a section of the press at the weekend, pointed out that youths were aggrieved with the leaders because of their attitude to them over the years, adding; “Youths reacted to bad governance and the attitude of leaders towards them which had built up-and then exploded. Luckily, it didn’t involve more destructions. But I would want to commend government for the way the situation was handled, if not for the hijack of hoodlums it was initially peaceful protests.”
On the forthcoming reception been organized for Governor Hope Uzodimma by the members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Owerri zone, he said it was an indication that the governor has a lot of followers in the zone and there is the need to enhance relations.
According to him, “It is no longer news that the governor came to office as a surprise but who ever is fueling the argument of his emergenc through the Supreme Court – that is no longer valid. His acceptability is increasing on a daily bases.”
Chief Onyemaechi also pointed out that although former governor Okorocha was indicted by the judicial panel of inquiry, he would prefer not to comment on it until the government white paper on the issue is out.
