Imo state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, (Onwa) has been commended for his proactiveness in handling the #EndSARS protests in Imo State.
Making the commendation, at the weekend, while interfacing with a section of the press, a bigwig of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief Bona Nwoke Dike, from Ngor Okpala Local Government Area said that it would take a man of vision, dedication and commitment to diffuse the tension in the state occasioned by the national protests.
According to the Ngor Okpala activist and America- trained administrator cum technocrat, “The governor, has demonstrated and shown capacity, intelligence and vision with regard to the problems of Imolites. He has indeed shown that he was prepared for the job.
“considering the fact that he assumed office at the height of COVID-19. As that was coming almost to an end, the issue of #EndSARS protests came up. Yet, he has been able to manage the situation, ensuring that no lives were lost. Governor Uzodimma was among the governors that started implementing the president’s directives and was on ground to ensure they were fully implemented.
Chief Nwoke Dike, went on to urge Imo people to continue to support the governor Uzodimma – led administration to enable him actualize his vision for the state, stressing. “You cannot have two governors at the same time.
Governor Uzodimma to the best of my knowledge and understanding has performed exceedingly well. He needs to be encouraged, supported, sincerely followed and advised on the way forward.
Nwoke Dike also advised the traditional rulers to assist the government to maintain peace and order by calling meetings in their various communities by advising the youths to refrain from violence. “Youths must also give the government time to implement the policies that will empower the youths in Imo State,” he concluded.
