Orsu IMC chair donates 6 months salary to constituents

Sunday, the 11th of October, 2020, was indeed a memorable day as the entire people of Orsu LGA including the IMC Chairman, Hon. Uchenna Osigwe Obodo, his councillors and all the Shared Prosperity Government appointees from the area, gathered in the premises of their apex leader, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. C.O.C Akolisa.
The gathering which featured all the 11 political wards from the 26 autonomous communities with all the political stakeholders both past and present, witnessed the dividends of the shared prosperity government as the convener, Hon. Uchenna Obodo donated his six months salary to Orsu people, while the host, Barr. Akolisa doled out cash of N1.1m to them.
Delivering a speech at the gathering, the Attorney General, Barr. Akolisa called on political office holders to shun self- aggrandizement and focus on human capital development which is the main reason for their selection by the governor.
He maintained that whosoever that does not believe in Governor Uzodimma is hopeless, adding, that Uzodimma as the governor is the best that has ever happened to Imo State.
In his remarks, the IMC Chairman, Hon. Obodo, said they came to thank governor Uzodimma for finding them worthy to serve.
Hon. Obodo who volunteered his entire salaries from the time of resumption till date, maintained that he did it to appreciate the governor for appointing him and to alleviate poverty among the downtrodden in Orsu LGA, adding, that he will do his best to ensure that he gives his people good representation.
Adding her voice, the APC former Deputy National Women Leader, Hon. Chief Mrs Tina Ekwueme Adike, JP, (Akaekpuchionwa), extol the leadership style of the Attorney General and Obodo and urged them never to relent.
Mrs Ekwueme who hails from Ihitenanasa political ward said she came to the venue with over 200 persons and maintained that APC in the state is alive again with the presence of Senator Hope Uzodimma.
