Debate on marginalisation of Ngor Okpala by Uzodimma’s govt Opara replies Nwoke Dike

The President General of Olu Owerri, Chief Martin Opara has responded to the futile attempt by an Ngor Okpala born American returnee, Bona Nwoke Dike to justify the now controversial plan of some favour seeking APC politicians of Owerri zone extraction to hold a civic reception in honour of Governor Hope Uzodimma, an event even Uzodimma’s Orlu zone is yet to contemplate.
Reacting to a newspaper publication where Nwoke Dike questioned the rationale for the position of Olu Owerri against the reception, Chief Opara insisted that the promoters of the event are self-serving and insensitive to the feelings of the people of Owerri zone. He wondered why these characters are busy chasing shadows, while the state is sunk deep into depression occasioned by inaccessible roads, non-payment of salaries and pensions as well as embezzlement of Local Government allocations.
Opara sympathized with Nwoke Dike who he described as a fine gentleman and faithful 3R apostle, for the neglect of his Local Government by the Uzodimma regime, challenging him to a debate on the marginalization of Ngor Okpala in the scheme of things by the Governor he has been defending.
Chief Opara listed ongoing road and other infrastructural projects which were abandoned immediately Uzodimma took over Imo insisting that the governor does not recognize hardworking people like Nwoke Dike.
According to him: “what will even give Nwoke Dike the temerity to talk in defence of Uzodimma who has personalized all appointments and robed the people of Ngor Okpala of the positions they held under the short-lived Ihedioha administration. Nwoke Dike should know that the Uzodinma administration has no plans for him, no matter how hard he tries to defend the unpopular government.”
