Stakeholders of Obudi Agwa Ancient Kingdom in Oguta Local Area of Imo State have accused the Interim Management Committee Chairman of the Council, Hon. Emma Mazi, former NDDC Commissioner, Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu and Chief Ethelbert Nnanna of instigating crisis in their community.
According to the statement signed by the President-General of Obudi Agwa Town Union, Barr. Barr. Joseph Chinedu Elumeziem, Oguta LGA APC Apex leader, Bishop, Dr. G.U Nweze and Oguta LGA APC Chairman, Hon. Cassidy Ohamara, “the IMC Chairman, Mr. Mazi, former NDDC Commissioner, Uchegbu and PDP House of Assembly aspirant in the last general elections, Chief Nnanna have been using PDP members to disrupt the ruling APC structure as well as fomenting troubles by forming parallel town Unions executives in eventually all the communities in Oguta LGA.”
The stakeholders accused the IMC Chairman of illegally smuggling the names of Johnbosco Iwunze and one other person from Oguta Ward B in as IMC members of the Council Area whereas there was an original template specifying how IMC members shall be selected. “The IMC Chairman swapped the name of our ward Chairman, Hon. Justin Eze Asor who automatically becomes the Councillor for Obudi/Aro ward as stipulated by the template and replace him with his PDP cohort, Mr. Johnbosco Iwunze. It is regrettable that one Mr. Leonard Okenesi and Mr. Celestine Douglas Okorie who claimed to be President-General and Secretary of Obudi Agwa Town Union respectively authored a media report stating that Imo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. COC Akaolisa is instigating crisis in Obudi Agwa. “We therefore urge members of the general public to ignore the publication as it was emanated from mischief makers. The Attorney-General only intervene in the injustice done to our Councillor by writing to the Special Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Mrs Rubby Emele who later confirmed Hon. Justin Eze Asor as our authentic IMC member. Let us state it unequivocally that Leonard Okenesi and Celestine Douglas Okorie are not members of Obudi Agwa Town Union let alone becoming PG and Secretary. We have conducted our Town Union election as directed by the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and Barr. Joseph Chinedu Elumeziem emerged the President-General. We have forwarded the names of Obudi Agwa Town Union executive members to the LGA.
We want our dear Governor to call Emma Mazi to order,” the statement read.
In furtherance, the traditional ruler of Obudi Agwa Ancient Kingdom, HRM Eze Dr. Ignatius Asor noted that his community is the most peaceful area in Agwa clan warning the IMC Chairman and others steer clear from his community. Eze Asor declared his readiness to smash every criminal element in Obudi Agwa Community. “I have written to the security agencies, and of course, some of the culprits are currently answering case at the Force Headquarters, Abuja,” the traditional ruler boasted.
