Move to Alaba Market, ENTRACO GM warns street traders

Street traders on Douglas, Mbaise, School, Tetlow, Wetheral, Old Market, roads as well as Rotibi and Lagos streets among others have been warned to move to Alaba Market before Thursday, 1st October 2020, which marks the end of the lasted 7 days notice issue to them.
The General Manager of Environmental Transport Commission, Imo State (Imo ENTRACO), Hon. Macdonald Kelechi Ebere, in an exclusive chat with the Edge Express, disclosed that numerous announcements have been made to notify the street traders on the need for them to relocate to Alaba market which is deemed more conducive for them, but they have remained adamant.
He said ENTRACO have been lenient enough and will continue to serve Imo residents with a human face as exemplified in the Shared Prosperity Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma’s 3R ideology mantra. However, he insisted that those who defy the relocation order would have themselves to blame.
The ENTRACO boss, said at the expiration of the 7days notice, the Commission would declare war against street traders, trading on the gutters, covering the gutters with concrete slabs, illegal structures as well as creating of shanties on the gutters, on the green verges and on the walkways.
