Obaseki re-elected as Edo Governor

  • Defeats APC’s Ize Iyamu with 84,336 votes

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Godwin Obaseki who is the current governor of Edo State winner of the state’s governorship election.
Obaseki defeated the second runner-up, Ize Iyamu candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC with 84, 336 votes.
Obaseki had 307,955 votes, while Ize Iyamu got 223,619 votes.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, announced the total result of the election.
