The federal government has given approval to the national centre for agricultural mechanization NCAM Ilorin to mass-produce agricultural machinery to accelerate the rate of agricultural mechanization in every part of the country.
The director of engineering head ACDC department, Engr. Zurumba Isaac who made the disclosure to newsmen in Umuahia said that they are partnering with ADP Abia State because they are very close to farmers and other stakeholders that they will have an outpoint at the National Crop Research Institute Umudike, the technology is compact in that the crop to be processed are integrated from planting, processing and finishing, “We are no talking of money now, we are sensitizing the farmers and other stakeholders on the use, availability and affordability of the machinery to minimize loss increased yield and profit to our farmers and other stakeholders, a project may be sophisticated it depends on what you want, the cost of the machinery depends on who needs it”
Similarly, the project Manager of Abia State ADP, Honorable Amanze Israel noted, “it is a project is in process, eighty percent of the people are to be sensitized and they should come and see what is happening, they should see why it is a good thing, they should use it for increased yield”.
Sequel to this, ADP and NCAM have organized an exhibition for farmers and stakeholders, and field workers on the commercialization of NCAM development of the mechanization technology.
