Imo North Senate: I’m destined to replace Uwajimogu -Amajuoyi

A foremost business merchant and real estate guru, Hon Charles Okechukwu Amajuoyi has expressed optimism of winning the forthcoming Imo North Senatorial bye-election.
This was after he emerged the Candidate of National Rescue Movement (NRM), defeating 3 other aspirants in a keenly contested party primary held at St Mary’s Primary School field, Eziama, Isiala Mbano LGA, recently.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, yesterday, the Isiala Mbano born astute politician and psychologist said he is the most favoured and destined to become the next Imo North senator.
He posited that despite the importance of Okigwe Senatorial district in the state, the zone is bereft of evidence of good governance and quality leadership.
Amajuoyi further disclosed that his decision to join in the 31st October scheduled election was informed by the yearnings of his people for effective representation and even development.
Amajuoyi who was an ex lecturer said he has been in politics for over 10yrs promised that if elected as the Okigwe zone senator, he would not only re-invent the wheel of development, but also bring his robust private service experience to render better service to Nigerians in general, and his people in particular.
He said, “voters in our senatorial district will not be fooled by the affluence of any candidate but his pedigree cum capacity to deliver. The people are tired of money bags, crop of our present leaders and their promises.
“Amongst others, I will bring meaningful development to Okigwe zone, leverage copiously on my wealth of experience and capacity to bring change and development to all the six local governments in our senatorial district.”
Speaking earlier, Dr Mike Nze, Imo State NRM Chairman said that his party NRM has the best candidate for the Okigwe Senate in the person of Amajuoyi.
He disclosed that the party candidate emerged through an indirect primary where all delegates from the six LGA’s participated and four aspirants withdrew for Amajuoyi.
Dr Nze who maintained the party has no alternative to Amajuoyi, adding that there was no room for Amajuoyi’s substitution, “because it would only amount to disservice to Okigwe people.”
When asked if NRM was one of the 71 INEC deregistered parties, the party chairman said NRM was one of the remaining 18 existing registered parties, with head office in Abuja.
He said, “we won election in Zamfara and FCT and we are here in Imo State to win elections. As at today the ruling APC does not have a candidate and may not have one. We are in touch with the youth and women of Okigwe zone and they have all agreed to vote our party.”
