It was jubilation galore at Oguta Local Government Headquarters, Imo State last weekend during the inauguration of the newly appointed Presidents-General of town unions by the Council Interim Management Committee Chairman, Hon. Emma Mazi.
The newly inaugurated town unions PGs include Mbanaso Victor (Egwe), Christopher Azubuike (Ezi osu), Bernard Ufere (Ndionyemaobi), Chinyerenwa Linus (Egbuoma), Leonard Okenesi (Obudi), Chief Barr. R.N. Mberekpe (Oguta), Christian Udensi (Osemoto), Ndubuisi C. Ajieh (Nkwesi), Stanley Okoroji (Nnebukwu), Ajah Vitus Chukwuemeka (Awa), Nicholas Uba (Akabor), Ibrahim Nwanne Amagwula (Ndiuloukwu), Alex Ugbele (Aborshi), Hyacinth Amaechi (Umunwama), Anthony Ifeobu (Obeabo), Vincent Akubueze (Orsu Obodo), Uzoma Durugbo (Umuofeke).
Others were Chidum Nwankwo (Mgbele), Uzoma Nzirimo (Ubah), Prince Chidi Nwokeocha (Mgbala), Maxilenus Amadi (Uwaorie), Kyrian Ajokwu (Mbano), Igwebuike Kyrian Chinedu (Ejemekwuru), Chinedu Mbamaonyeukwu (Abiaziem), Rev. Eugene Onwubie (Umuofor) and Oti Emeka (K/Beachi).
Addressing the 26 PGs shortly after the inauguration, the IMC Chairman, Hon. Emma Mazi noted that the new crop of the communities’ town unions executives was carefully selected so as to propagate and champion policies and programmes of the present All Progressives Congress, APC government in Imo State led by Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma. Hon. Mazi charged the newly appointed PGs to go home and liaise with their traditional rulers in order to promote peace and unity in their various communities. “Past administrations brought on board PGs who worked with them. And ours will not be different. It is difficult to work with those who are not happy with you. We have installed men of capacities who will not only support Senator Hope Uzodimma but ever ready to ensure the overall success of the 3R agenda. They are capable of steering the affairs of the communities,” the IMC Chairman boasted.
In his vote of thanks, the President General of Oguta Ancient Kingdom, Chief Barr. R. N. Mberekpe praised the IMC Chairman for finding them worthy to serve their people promising to make him (Hon. Mazi) and Governor Hope Uzodimma proud.
