The Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Charles Onyirimba has stated that, if elected to represent Imo North (Okigwe zone) in the October 31, 2020, senatorial bye-election, accountability and transparency would be his guiding principles, stressing that he would not disappoint the people of Okigwe zone and would ensure total transformation of the zone through quality representation.
Dr. Onyirimba made this declaration on Sunday, September 6, at Ehime Mbano during his official adoption as the candidate of APGA in the forthcoming Okigwe Senatorial re-run.
During the well-attended event at Umueze 11 Central School in Ehime Mbano, which was witnessed by INEC officials, security personnel, electoral panel and Chieftains of APGA at all levels, Dr Charles Onyirimba described APGA as a conscience with deep brotherhood, saying that the smoothness of his adoption ceremony had proved to the world that APGA members love themselves.
He said that he had not come to be a master but to serve the people and re-engineer the zone, adding that hope for the people in government had started and also promised that Nigerians would soon begin to hear the voice of Okigwe zone.
The National Chairman of APGA, Dr. Victor Ike Oye, who was represented by the Deputy National Chairman (South) Chief Uchenna Okogbuo, appreciated the State Chairman, Chief John Iwuala for a “wonderful job” in Imo APGA Okogbuo expressed his confidence in the APGA senatorial candidate to give Okigwe zone quality representation.
The five-man electoral panel headed by Hon. Carter Dike Umeh of the Anambra State House of Assembly also included Ifeanyi Mbaeri (Secretary), Mrs. Anneiete Udo, Mrs. Chinyere Mbakwe and Hon. Nnanna Nzewi.
The Panel Chairman, Hon Carter Dike Umeh expressed his joy that the right thing had been done and appreciated the unity, love and brotherhood in Imo APGA, though not in government.
