The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Prince Marcel Amadioha on Friday 28th August 2020 inaugurated President Generals of town unions of the various autonomous communities in the council area.
The newly inaugurated President Generals include Comrade Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka (Obile), Akumefula Moses Iheanyichukwu (Obosima), Obodo Batholomew Goodluck (Assa), U.S Ejekwu (Ohuba), Hon. Jiakponna Vitalis (Umunwara), Ikechukwu Festus (Opuoma), Chief Kenneth Okwodu (Obuomadike), Ejinna Mgbaraho C.C (Mmahu), Akam Kingsley Nnawihe (Ochia), C.M Olumiza (Obiakpu).
Others are Enyinnaya London Ulunwa (Awarra) Ogide Afam (Abacheke) Oguguo C.C (Umuapu), Onyejekwe Festus (Obitti), and Chief Linus Ejiogu (Mgbuisii).
Shortly after the inauguration, the IMC Chairman, Pince Amadioha informed that reconstituting the town unions executives is in line with Governor Hope Uzodimma’s directives, charging the newly inaugurated President Generals to go back home and liaise with their traditional rulers so as to champion policies and programmes of the present All Progressives Congress, APC government in Imo State. He noted that the PGs will steer the affairs of the communities within three months.
The IMC Chairman seized the opportunity to refute recent radio announcement claiming that governor Hope Uzodimma directed traditional rulers to conduct town unions executives which was orchestrated by the member representing Ohaji/Egbema in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Heclus Cyriacus Okoro. He blamed Hon. Okoro for not knowing his role as a lawmaker querying when legislators started usurping executive functions. “I am aware of law number 15 of the House of Assembly. Lawmakers can only embark on oversight functions not to select who becomes president general of a community.
“Hon. Okoro is working for oppositions. He is Okorocha’s boy. He should desist from dividing Ohaji/Egbema people who believe in Uzodimma’s administration. Of course, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma should know that he is against him,” the IMC Chairman revealed.
In his inaugural speech, the Coordinating President of all the newly inaugurated President Generals and Obile Town Union President General, Comrade Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for bringing peace in Ohaji/Egbema by given mandate to the IMC Chairman, Prince Amadioha to reconstitute town unions executives in their council area. “Let us seize this opportunity to pass vote of confidence on Governor Hope Uzodimma, our national leader, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Opiah and IMC Chairman, Prince Marcel Amadioha for returning peace in Ohaji/Egbema. Rt. Hon. Opiah as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Oil and Gas has identified all the oil wells belonging to Imo State that have been controlled by Rivers State. We are happy with the appointment of Prince Amadioha as our IMC Chairman. We are 100% in support of APC and Ohaji/Egbema will continue to be APC compliance,” the PG promised.
