Hope Alive inaugurates Owerri West chapter

Leading supporters and promoters of the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma, Hope Alive Youth Organization (HAYO), has, amidst great jubilation, successfully inaugurated its Owerri West Chapter with Comrade John Cajetan Ogbuewu as the LGA coordinator.
The event which took place on Tuesday, August 18, at the Owerri West LGA headquarters in Umuguma Commenced with a visit to the traditional ruler of Umuguma Ancient Kingdom, HRH Eze Ugorji by the Hope Alive Inauguration committee and other leaders led by the state coordinator of the group, Hon. Marcellinus Madu.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Madu intimated the traditional ruler of the aims and objectives of Hope Alive Youth Organization which include grass root mobilization and enlightening people on the achievements of the present administration.
Madu also told Eze Ugorji that it was respectful to inform him of their presence in Owerri West LGA as the father of the community, stating that Hope Alive comprises responsible young people with vision and many programmes such as skill acquisition.
The traditional ruler, Eze Ugorji blessed them and expressed his delight that the group and Governor Uzodimma have respect for traditional rulers. The LGA coordinator, Comrade John Cajetan Ogbuewu pleaded with Eze Ugorji to always carry members of the group along in his activities.
Speaking during the inauguration of the 22 LGA executive members and ward executives, the IMC chairman of Owerri West LGA, Hon. Okechukwu Enyioha who was represented by Hon. Johnson Opara- Councilor representing Umuguma-enjoined all to support the Governor and promised to carry Hope Alive along in all their activities, adding that politics required patience and steadfastness.
The LGA coordinator, Comrade John Cajetan Ogbuewu thanked the state Inauguration committee and informed that Hope Alive is a political youth structure with the aim of mobilizing youth support for Governor Uzodimma and Prof. Placid Njoku to deliver the policies of the 3R mantra of the administration.
Ogbuewu enumerated some of the achievements of Hope Alive in Owerri West such as massive sensitization of the people on Covid-19, grassroots enlightenment on Uzodimma’s achievements, having Hope Alive in all the wards, decorating all councilors as their patrons, etc.
He thanked the IMC chairman for giving them an office and observed that lack of funds has been a hindrance in their efforts to make Hope Alive a household name in Owerri West LGA.
The Owerri West Coordinator also used the opportunity to thank Governor Uzodimma for appointing Hon. Noble Atulegwu as Commissioner for Skills Acquisition/Entrepreneurship, Chief Charles Ohiri as an ISIEC Commissioner, Chief Gibson Achonwa as SA on Agricultural Development, Evang. Treasure Ahanonu as SA Sanitation, Owerri Zone and others.
Speaking on behalf of the inaugurated ward coordinators, the coordinator for Irete/Orogwe ward 10 Evang. Kem Ugorji expressed their joy at being found worthy to serve and pledged their support and loyalty to Governor Uzodimma.
The state coordinator, Hon. Marcillinus Madu expressed his joy at the massive turn out of members in Owerri West LGA and listed some of the activities of the group to include partnering with ENTRACO, skills acquisition, etc.
A highlight of the event was the award of certificate of honour to the LGA coordinator Comrade John Cajetan Ogbuewu, IMC Chairman Enyioha and others.
