The people of Owerri Nchiise have called on the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma to look into the communities wrongfully created by former governor Rochas Okorocha.
They made the call when they paid a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House Owerri.
Requesting that Owerri Nchiise be restored back to its original statues of five communities with a paramount ruler. The people who were represented by the five village heads of Amawom, Umuonyima, Umuororonjo, Umuodu, Umuonyeche, as well as the President General of the town union, disclosed that they are already on the process of selecting their paramount ruler through due process, and thereby urged the governor to restore Arugo and Ikenegbu layouts, area ‘K’, Eke Ukwu market and other wrongfully acquired lands by the Okorocha’s administration.
Receiving the Owerri Nchiise people led by the Interim Management Committee chairman of Owerri Municipal, Hon. Ambrose Nkwodimma, the governor promised to look into their request and do justice to it in due course.
