The Special Adviser to Imo governor, on Recreation and Parks Mr. Wilson Nwafor has commended the performance of Imo’s number one citizen stating that he has shown capacity in the running of the state.
He made the commendation Tuesday in his Ahiajoku Centre office, Owerri, while playing hosts to his kinsmen who came under the umbrella of Association of Mbaitoli Journalists.
He charged the journalists to drum support for the government which he said should be their priority because according to him Uzodimma has demonstrated sufficient goodwill and capacity to lead the state.
In his words,” let us not keep dividing our state and disturbing our leaders because unknown to you, you block others who may benefit from the government. I encourage your positive impact to reflect in your works.”
Speaking on his activities so far he observed that the pandemic slowed down efforts but stated that “we are presently collecting data, working on how we can bring in investors, and get the corporate organizations do their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).”
“We want to rebrand and develop the recreation parks, get them to international standard for new and existing ones”, he added.
The American trained professional observed that the previous governments did not harness the potentials inherent in the Parks adding that in developed economies it provides a full-fledged opportunity to make money. He promised to unfold the package of his department after due consultations and approval by his principal.
The former Chairman of the Board of the African Herald Express indicated however, that they are going to bring leisure to the local governments while urging the journalists to take advantage of his open door policy for mutual benefits.
Nwafor reminded that the governors 3R’s of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation shows the direction the governor is going and drummed support from the media group and all Imolites.
Earlier in his speech, Comrade Chidiebere Iwuoha had remarked that the group was on a courtesy call to express support to him and seeking ways to assist him in the performance of his job. He reminded the Special Adviser that he should remember he is the face of Mbaitoli and so much is expected from him based on his exposure and experience.
