Anunobi hails NURTW on new leadership, smooth handover


Imo State Commissioner for Transport, Chief (Barr) Rex C. Anunobi, has congratulated the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Imo State chapter, following the emergence of Ifechi Davidson Okorie (One-Man-Squad) as its new Chairman and subsequent handover by the outgoing Chairman,
Comr. Okebaram Izuchukwu (Bora).
The Commissioner, who showered ecomium on both the incoming and outgoing chairmen, describing them as patriots, when the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Hon. Keneth Okafor led the duo alongside other stakeholders to his office, said the maturity and understanding so far exhibited by NURTW upon the inception of the present administration largely underscores a greater support for Senator Hope Uzodimma government of shared prosperity and vision.
Anunobi glowingly commended the SA Transport to the Governor, Hon. Okafor, for ensuring that peace reigned during the transition of power between the former and present chairman of the union in the state.
While restating the commitment of the Ministry of Transport under his watch to ensure that all stakeholders comply with the vision of Senator Hope Uzodimma towards sanitizing the transportation sector, the Commissioner urged the Chairman, Prince Okorie (One-Man-Squad) to avoid any act capable of truncating the existing peace in the state while leading NURTW members back to their duty post of loading and unloading in compliance with government approved guideline and sharing template especially as it affects Ifeanyi Okafor’s Park Management Team.
While also urging the new leadership of NURTW to cooperate with the Park Manager, Barr. Anunobi reiterated that government had before now harmonized every arrangement that would beyond enthrenching peace and good working relationship between the NURTW and Okafor led Park Management Team restore sanity, and drive an improved revenue for the state from the transportation sector.
The Commissioner also urged all other stakeholders to close ranks, work harmoniously as well as demonstrate high sense of patriotism to ensure that peace reigns in the state thus enabling the government and the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma to realize the ultimate goal of transforming the state in terms of infrastructural development and other key sectors of the economy.
In their separate remarks, both the outgoing and incoming Chairmen, Comr. Okebaram Izuchukwu (Bora) and Prince Ifechi Davison Okorie (One-Man-Squad) respectively, promised to work together and purposefully in championing the affairs of the union and to support of Senator Hope Uzodimma’s vision especially in the transportation sector.
They commended the Commissioner, Barr. Anunobi, for ensuring that all stakeholders in the transportation sector are given a sense of belonging in the affairs of the present administration.
