NURTW thanks Uzodimma for recalling sacked members

Leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW),Imo State council have commended the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for recalling members of the union numbering over 25,000 that were allegedly sacked by the Imo park manager, Chief Ifeanyi Okafor.
Recall that the union Chairman, Comrade Izuchukwu Okebaram last month during a chat with Edge Express, assured that the governor, whom he described as a listening and accommodating father, would recall the alleged sacked 25,000 NURTW workers. He thus urged the members to remain calm and never to embark on a protest, which according to him could lead to destruction of lives and properties. The members heed to the advice and resorted to prayers.
Their prayers however, did not go in vain as the state governor according to the Chairman has recalled them. In a communiqué signed by the chairman and secretary respectively, Comrade Okebaram and Comrade Franklin Uchehara, the union expressed their gratitude and assured “that they would do everything within their powers to sustain, deepen the peace cum industrial harmony in the state. They promised to partner the Park Management Committee for the actualization of the governor’s 3R vision in the transport sector.”
They also thanked the Transport Commissioner, Rex Anunobi, Finance Commissioner, Chuk Chukwuemeka, SA Transport, Chief Kenneth Okafor for the roles they played in recalling the sacked NURTW workers, praying God to reward and elevate them exceedingly.
