In recognition of her leadership qualities and in promoting the shared prosperity mantra of the present administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma, the Director General of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) Imo State Chapter, Mrs. Obioma Okafor has been honored as the most Innovative Personality of the year by Earl Africa Foundation, an empowerment-oriented organization.
Speaking during the award presentation which took place on July 28 at the office of the CPC Director General in Owerri, the Coordinator of Earl Africa Foundation, Prince Roland described Mrs. Okafor’s commitment to eradicate hazardous products and adequately promote consumer’s rights, as commendable, congratulating the CPC boss for reviving the once moribund agency in line with Governor Uzodimma’s 3R policy thrust. Prince Roland observed that the award of Excellence to Mrs. Okafor was to encourage her to do more and for others to emulate her footsteps.
Praising Governor Uzodimma for Mrs. Okafor’s appointment as CPC DG, Prince Roland described the appointment as one of the best made so far as the CPC boss had brought her wealth of experience and administrative acumen to move the agency forward.
In her response, the CPC Director General, Mrs.Obioma Okafor thanked the management of EARL AFRICA Foundation for finding her worthy of the award, expressing her gratitude to God for her appointment.
Being the first award to be received since assuming office, Mrs. Obioma Okafor noted it meant a lot to her and dedicated it to all Imolites working hard to ensure that the shared prosperity of the present administration was successful.
She stated that God had remembered Imo through the emergence of Uzodimma as governor who had re-positioned Imo CPC through his 3R policy thrust.
The CPC boss assured Imolites of Governor Uzodimma’s love that is evident in the re-positioning of Imo CPC which is determined to re- write all the wrongs of the past administrations that failed to address the flagrant abuse and violation of consumer’s rights by manufacturers and distributors of goods and services.
Mrs. Okafor added,” Imolites should be rest assured that CPC under my watch as DG is prepared to ensure adequate protection of consumers’ rights and the overall wellness of the citizenry.”
