NYSC Boss extols Honourable Commissioner


The newly appointed Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corp scheme in Imo State Mr. Suleiman Abdullahi has lauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for identifying and appointing into office Chief Dan Ogu as Honourable Commissioner for Youths/Sports and Social Development.
Mr. Abdullahi disclosed this when he visited the Honourable Commissioner in his office.
The NYSC Boss congratulated Chief Dan Ogu on his elevation and expressed satisfaction on his youth friendly policy initiatives that is bringing about noticeable attitudinal change in the management of youth related matters.
He also drew the attention of the Honourable Commissioner to the presence of some corp members who were posted to participate in the ongoing National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) training programmes at the State Specialist Hospital, Umuguma and solicited government’s intervention in giving them a conducive environment to operate on.
The Honourable Commissioner thanked the NYSC Imo State Coordinator for the visit and assured him of Governor Hope Uzodimma administration ‘s commitment to implementing youth friendly policies in recognition of the critical roles they play towards nation building. He further went down memory lane and saluted the courage and visionary policy of Gen. Yakubu Gowon who established the NYSC scheme in 1973 that continues to foster national cohesion amongst Nigerian youths.
The Honourable Commissioner enjoined the NCDC trainees to take their assignments seriously as their collective contributions towards the containment of the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, even as he assured that his Ministry will lend support to the NYSC to enable it succeed in carrying out the obligation of its mandate in Imo State.
