In the spirit of oiling and sustaining its relationship with leaders and members of the party, everywhere and every time, the State Working Committee SWC of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State Saturday, July 11, 2020, paid a courtesy visit to the Egbu, Owerri North home of Dr. Jonathan Osuji, the Imo-born Abia Commissioner for Health, who doubles as the Chairman of the State COVID-19 Committee.
Leading the SWC was Imo PDP State Chairman Sir Martin Ejiogu. With him were State Secretary, Hon. Nze Ray Emeaña; State Treasurer Barr Josiah Eze; State Organizing Secretary Hon. Nze Law Biaduo; State Auditor, Hon. Godson Nwaobasi and Ag. State Publicity Secretary Ogubundu Nwadike.
In his brief remark, the State Chairman thanked God for enabling the visit on a day Dr. Osuji was available off his obviously very busy schedule in this period of COVID-19 pandemic. He stated that the visit was on courtesy to a good leader of Imo PDP, whom Providence and merit took to sister state, Abia for continued service to humanity. Thanking God for the rare opportunity, Sir Martin Ejiogu, urged Dr. Osuji to remain steadfast and do Imo proud in the unique offshore assignment. He thanked God for the news of His Excellency, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the Abia State governor testing negative to the COVID-19 infection.
Speaking, Hon. Nze Emeaña, State Secretary, thankfully recalled how Dr. Osuji, not too long ago hosted the entire PDP family in Owerri North. He reminded that Imo and Abia PDP have always had a very cordial relationship, wishing that the friendship will be further sustained for mutual benefits, with the presence of Dr. Osuji in the Government of Abia State. Nze Emeaña prayed for the continued good health of Governor Ikpeazu.
In his response, Dr. Osuji said he was gladdened by the visit, thanking the visitors for coming. He assured that the Abia governor has recovered and was doing well in his health. Dr. Osuji stated that he was quite aware of the good relationship between Imo PDP and Abia PDP, promising to see that the relationship remains friendly. He concluded by stressing that he won’t disappoint Imo PDP or Imo State in his service in Abia State.
The highpoint of the visit was a group photograph of Dr. Osuji and the visiting Imo PDP SWC.
