Imo govt dissolves market committees

Market debt recovery committees, market development committees as well as digitalization committees, have been dissolved in the major markets in Imo State.
A press statement from the office of Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu, Special Adviser to Governor Uzodimma on Markets and Allied Matters, stated that the committees were dissolved last Friday shortly after stakeholders meeting with members of Imo market committees.
However, the dissolved committee members were equally advised to declare “interest to work,” should they wish to continue, but must embrace honesty as their watchword.
When contacted, Amajirionwu said the committees were dissolved to enable the state government set up a committee that would carry the traders as well as the stakeholders in the market along.
He explained that Imo government would erect legacy structures in the major markets through the expected Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from Imo markets, which previously were not properly accounted for ,calling on all market stakeholders to support the Shared Prosperity government of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
