Saturday 13 June marked it one year in the office of the legislative members of the 9th Assembly . Hon. Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi in his magnanimity briefed his constituency on his achievements so far at his country home in Oforuola, Owerri West.
In his address to newsmen he said he has attracted a 6.9KM road to Owerri West LGA and beyond which spread across Avu/Oforola/Irete/Orogwe communities and Emekuku part of Owerri- North LGA, an attraction of three classroom blocks still on going for people of Oforola Community.
On security Onyemaechi said, “As a way to ensure the security of lives and properties of the good people of Owerri West LGA, and also reduced criminal activities and social vices among the youths, we had a fruitful deliberation with the youths and security personnel for the interest of Owerri West.”
Onyemaechi further explained that in his one year in office, he was able to recover some lands illegally taken by the administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha which one of the owners is Gen. Roland Ogbonna who has gotten back his two hectares of land. He has returned Umuguma, Ogbosisi back to Area K which is their ancestral land of which they will now get their benefits as land owners unlike in the past when they were denied what was due to them.
According to Chief Onyemaechi,in a short period of one year,he has reinstated Umunwagwo, Nekede to their ancestral land as they were denied their rights previously as original owners. His intervention has ensured ISOPADEC for the first time accepted to give their host community, Nekede job opportunities. On his defection to APC Onyemaechi said he defected to APC because he wanted to attract the dividends of democracy to his people, adding that with governor Hope Uzodimma at helm of affairs, Imo is on the path of positive and holistic transformation.
