A social commentator, administrator and political strategist, Hon. Bona Nwoke Dike, has said that for Governor Uzodinma and the members of Imo State House Of Assembly to have repealed what he described as the “Obnoxious” Community Government Council Law is a very big plus to this administration, which should be commended by all men of good will. He also added his voice in support of their decision in amending the Imo State Traditional Rulers, Autonomous Communities and Allied Matters Law No. 15 of 2016, to enable the government appoint officers of the Imo State Council Of Traditional Rulers. Hon. Nwoke Dike, who is the Apex Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC Ward 7 in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area made this known while interfacing with a section of the press at the weekend in Owerri. According to him, “the governor and the lawmakers have once again demonstrated their zeal and determination to leave the state better than they met it.” The CGC was an aberration; it was not recognized by the constitution, but set up to serve the selfish interest of the former governor as a conduit pipe used in milking the state dry. “Again, by empowering the governor to appoint the officers of the Traditional Rulers’ Council, it has reduced the friction and tension that would have come up as a result of the infighting among the contestants, which in some cases may polarize and divide the loyalty of the royal fathers as to who emerges the chairman.
