Lands Ministry raises alarm over fake property developers

Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, has raised alarm over the activities of fake property developers, who have been going about, deceiving Imo communities with the intent of acquiring lands from same communities.

In a press statement signed by the commissioner in charge of the Ministry, Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu, the ministry warned indigenes of the affected communities in Owerri West Local Government Area where land grabbers and fake developers are rampant to be cautious of their activities, warning that the state government will neither accept nor countenance any transaction arising from any unauthorized transactions.

A recent investigation carried out by the Edge Express revealed that the communities in Owerri West LGA, where the fake property developers have held sway, include, Obinze, Avu, Nekede, as well as Umuguma.

It was reliably gathered that some of the respected members in the aforementioned communities and externals pose as government representatives. However, the commissioner, has assured that the state government is leaving no stone unturned towards ensuring that the nefarious activities of such fake property developers is put to a stop but can only be achieved with the cooperation of the affected communities who have been urged to always draw the attention of the state government should there be suspicious moves.
