Umuekwune Irete elders appreciate Gov. Uzodinma for Duru’s IMC appointment

The family elders of Umuekwune in Irete autonomous community of Owerri West L G A have expressed their gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodinma for appointing their son, Hon. Obinna Duru as a member of the Interim Management Committee ( IMC ) of Owerri West L G A, saying that by this appointment, the governor had further given the people of Irete community a sense of belonging.

Some of the elders who paid the courtesy visit last Sunday were members of the cabinet of the traditional ruler of the community.

Speaking on behalf of the family elders, Chief Peter Ononogbo expressed the satisfaction of the elders at Hon. Obinna Duru’s appointment and said they had no doubt that the counsellor would discharge his duties creditably and make the people of Irete proud.

They also noted that Hon. Duru’s track record of result delivery in previous assignments he had done for their community in various areas of endeavour speak volumes, hence their confidence he would also deliver as a counsellor.

Responding, Hon. Obinna Duru thanked the family elders for visiting him, adding that he had been strengthened by the act.

He assured them of quality representation in the local government council. Hon. Duru used the occasion to thank Governor Hope Uzodinma for his love for Irete Community and by giving them a sense of belonging adding that his people would always support him and remain loyal to the administration.
