Nwoke-Dike commends Uzodinma over pension law, others

A notable stakeholder of the All Progressive Congress, APC ,Chief Bona Nwoke  Dike ,has lauded the courage of the state governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma and the Imo State House of Assembly for revoking  the pension bill of past governors, their deputies ,the speakers and their deputies  in the state. He described  such a  pension bill as  distasteful and inimical to  the overall progress of the state .

The notable  politician and administrator in an interaction with newsmen in Owerri , applauded the strong will and wisdom of the governor in presenting and assenting to  such a progressive  bill.

In his words, “I am impressed at the governor’s decision. It is noteworthy that the present governor will benefit from the VIP pension scheme, but he abolished it for the greater interest of the state.

“Imo State would need about  One Billion Five Hundred Million Naira(N1.5b) yearly to service the pension of these former governors and speakers, and with recent development, he would save at least Ten Billion Naira (10b) in four years, which can be utilized to provide small scale industries that could create employment  to our teeming youths.”

Nwoke-Dike further elucidated that, Governor Uzodinma becomes the first governor to have repealed such law in the entire South East, South South, and South West. Thus, he called on all Imolites to join him in congratulating and encouraging the governor in carrying out developmental policies that will impact positively in the lives of Imolites.
