Hon. Bede Eke, representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal constituency, has commended the lawmaker representing Ezinihite in the State House of Assembly,Hon, Anyadike Nwosu for declining to append his signature to the law relocating University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences from Aboh Mbaise /Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, to Umuagwo.
Hon. Eke described the bill as “vendetta bill” against the people of the area, advising the state legislators not to allow themselves to be used by the executive to get back at the perceived political rivals in the state.
The two times state lawmaker, further called on the critical stakeholders in the state to put aside political party related matters and speak against the planned relocation of the university.
He further stated , “ We all spoke and condemned the relocation of Imo State University from Owerri to Ogboko during the administration of Senator Rochas Okorocha and the agenda was defeated. This one will also go same if we speak in one accord.” The federal lawmaker promised to reach out to leaders and stakeholders from the area, to fashion out ways to ensure the relocation and amendment of law establishing the institution never succeed.
