In two weeks time, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, will certify another testing center for COVID-19, in Imo State.

This was made public by the governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, while he was commissioning the already certified COVID-19 testing center in the state which is the Everight Diagnostic Center in Owerri.

Governor Uzodinma said, that the testing center in the state will save the state the logistic cost of running from Imo to Ebonyi State, stressing, that the risk of running on the road and conveying samples to other states for testing is now alleviated.

The governor who expressed optimism to NCDC for making sure that Imo State is fully prepared to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, commended the Everight Laboratory for their staunch professionalism.

Speaking earlier, the chairman of Ever-Right Laboratories, Mr. Everest Okpara, who is also the president of Owerri Chamber of Commerce and Industries (OCCIMA) said that, the move by governor Uzodinma towards the commissioning of the center shows how committed he is to protecting the lives of Imo people. It could be recalled that recently, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) announced Everight Diagnostic and Laboratory Services, Owerri as the 24th of the National COVID-19 laboratory network.
